Working with heavy equipment was what I really and truly wanted to do as a little kid. My favorite gifts were Tonka trucks.

For my second birthday, my mom took me to a construction site near our apartment building that we would pass by in the mornings as we walked.

The workers let me climb on the enormous machines and somewhere in the bazillions of my family photographs there are pictures of me sitting proudly with the construction workers in the cabs, high above the ground.
